Up for sale is my excellent Takahashi EM2s Equatorial Telescope Mount with RA Electric Drive in mint condition.I am the second owner from new and have owned it for almost 4 years. It was built in 1998 and was supplied new, with a Tak FS128, by the then sole UK Tak dealer, Trutek Technology. It was used perhaps a dozen times in the 18 years with the first owner, and as a result, the mount is in wonderful, mint condition and works perfectly. It’s almost unmarked. Please note that the scope and tripod shown in the photos are not included in the sale, just the mount, motor drive/handset and counterweight.

Also included in the sale will be the original user manual and RA electric drive powered by 4 D cell batteries (newly fitted, and last for over 12 months), and a superb illuminated polar finder scope, also fitted with new batteries this week.

The Declination axis is operated by a very smooth hand control. The R.A. drive tracks very well indeed with just a manual alignment with Polaris. A superb, illuminated polar finder scope is included, fitted with new batteries this week. Note: the mount altitude range has a maximum latitude of 50 degrees north. My location is over 53 degrees north and for visual tracking this works fine, objects will stay centred for up to an hour.

This mount was the forerunner of the EM10 & EM11 mounts, the load capacity is the same at around 10-12kg in practice, the main difference being that the newer mounts have go-to and electric drives on both axes.

The perfect mount for visual observers who want a super smooth, solid and reliable tracking mount. Please check the photos and ask any questions you may have. I will only ship in the UK and free, insured shipping is included. Thanks for looking and good bidding.
