WINNER! 1st and 3rd in Sky at Night magazine’s 10×50

group test!

50mm binoculars are general purpose and suitable for most applications. They offer ample light gathering for most uses, are small enough to fit in your glove box, rucksack or panniers and are easy to hold.

But most manufacturers try to cut corners and make them as cheaply as possible. Our 50mm’s are made with superior BAK-4 prisms (most others are inferior BAK-7s) but are still great value. BAK-4’s give a brighter, sharper image but cost more as they’re denser. We see no reason to offer customers an inferior product just because they don’t need 60mm or larger lenses!

They can be tripod mounted using our inexpensive L bracket (6.99+VAT) but are easily light enough to hand hold for long periods. A tripod makes all binoculars easier to use, sadly not all of our competitors offer this facility on 50mm binoculars.

This model has 20x magnification, this is double that of most 50mm binoculars and brings distant objects incredibly close. For bird watching or astronomy you might find the field of view a bit small, our 10×50 or 12×50 may suit you better.

caps.

Shipping

UK shipping normally takes two business days, an express service may be possible. Items are sent same day

if ordered before our courier’s collection. For items under 2kg there is no extra charge for EC shipping,

please ask for a quote on larger items or non-European sales.

Payment

We prefer paypal, but can also take BACS or cheques. We take credit or debit cards over the phone on

01479 812549. We prefer debit cards as credit cards charge us a 3.5% fee.

Price includes VAT, a receipt will be sent with the binoculars unless you ask us not to (if they’re a

present for example). If you’re outside the UK and can give me a VAT number in your EC country I don’t

need to add VAT. If you’re outside the EC you don’t need to pay either.

Strathspey binoculars are well respected in astronomy and bird watching circles. Our 15x70s were Sky

at Night magazine’s 2005 “what to buy for Christmas” choice due to their unbeatable value and superb

optics. We came 1st and 3rd in BBC Sky at Night’s 10×50 group test. The company was started by a

professional engineer who saw a gap in the market for quality optics at a sensible price.

Our prices are low as we’re a factory outlet. There is no margin built in for high street stores,
