Here we have a Skywatcher 130M Newtonian Reflector Telescope in excellent working order.
I have owned this scope from new and paid over 180 for it, plus another 30 or so for the Solar filters.
The scope has some discoloration to some of it’s parts, which can be seen in the photos. This is a reaction to sunlight and in NO WAY affects the performance or workings of the scope.
The solar filter is made from hi quality CNC Machined parts with very high quality Solar films, one is yellow which makes the sun appear yellow, the other is silver which makes the sun appear greyish white. With the 25mm eye piece, the suns disc more than fills the view and sunspots are clearly visible. With the 10mm eyepiece fitted both the Umbra and Penumbra of sunspots can be seen.
A moon filter is included and with the 10mm eyepiece looks amazing, almost as if it was about to land on your head.
I have used this scope to view all the planets, with the exception of Pluto, which is too small and too far away to be seen with a scope of this size. Jupiter’s red spot is easily seen, as are its four main moons. Saturn is a sight to behold when the rings are fully open.
The motor drive attaches to the side of the mount and allows the scope to automatically track the object you are viewing, which is very useful at higher magnifications as the Earth’s rotation soon moves the object out of view.
So why am I selling it? Well there are a few reasons.
Number one, where I live, it is cloudy most days and I rarely have the time to set it up before the sky clouds over, also there’s quite a bit of light pollution here. I have done what I set out to do, namely see all eight planets, plus the sun and moon and various galaxy’s and nebulae. Finally, my interests have moved on and I need the money to fund a new camera.
The scope is currently in the loft under a sheet, fully assembled in case anyone wants to view it. I would prefer the buyer to come and collect it rather than risk using a courier, but if you want to sort out your own, I will box it back up in its original packaging.
The starting bid is the minimum I will accept, there is no buy it now and I will not end the auction early.
