How embarrassing to be selling this wonderful Skywatcher ‘scope, when I’ve hardly used it over the past year!
However, needs must, and it’s a shame to leave this excellent instrument languishing in my loft when some budding astronomer could enjoy it to the full!
Yes, it’s pretty basic as larger telescopes go, but it does present wonderfully clear images of the moon, stars and planets – particularly Saturn, my favourite night sky target!
At an optical diameter of 114mm. and focal length of 500 mm. it comes with coated optics, a red dot finder-scope, Super 10mm. eyepiece lens, 2x Barlow lens, collapsible tripod and accessory tray .
As stated above, the “Precision Motor Drive’ is a small battery (PP9) powered electric motor that attaches to the main drive shaft and allows tracking (“N & S”) in sympathy with the motion of the earth in relation to the night sky. Of course, the two normal flexible cable-type tracking adjusters are also available if preferred.
These popular starter telescopes currently retail at around 150 new, so this is a real bargain in my auction to see if astronomy is for you without too much outlay!
NB It’s a big, bulky package weighing all of 23 kgs, so personal collection is to be strongly advised!
