A reflector with incorrectly aligned mirrors will give unsatisfactory viewing. This Cheshire collimator is designed to help you get the mirrors pointing the right way to optimise the viewing experience. Unlike laser collimators, a Cheshire collimator allows you to accurately align the secondary mirror’s vertical position in the tube as well as its directional position in relation to the primary mirror. And of course it allows you to accurately align the primary mirror to the secondary mirror and the eyepiece. There are some great demonstrations of the process on YouTube.
Designed to help you get your mirrors aligned this collimator has a restricted field of view to help you align the crosshairs in the centre of the telescope’s optics. The cleverly angled aluminium plate helps illuminate the target faces.
This model is extra long (150mm) to increase the accuracy of alignment and is made solidly of metal apart from the eyecup.

“Middle” section 34mm diameter x 70mm long
“Upper” section 36mm diameter x 45mm long
