Sky-Watcher Skyliner-200P/1200 Parabolic Dobsonian Telescope
Dobsoniantelescopes offer an incredible aperture-to-price ratio. The Dobsonian mount, popularized by John Dobson in the 1970.s, is a simple and efficient method ofmounting a Newtonian reflector, based on the Alt-Azimuth principal. Fast andeasy to set up, the Dobsonian mount consists of a box-type mounting whichallows the telescope to pivot in altitude, while the box itself is rotated on abase in azimuth. The secret of the design is to correctly balance the opticaltube and use frictional materials which allow it to be moved easily when nudgedbut to stay in position when not. The mount is designed to be driven by hand asopposed to slow motion controls. Sky-Watcher Dobsonians provide excellent allround performance for the observation the Moon and Planets and Deep Sky Objectssuch as Galaxies and Nebulae

PARABOLICPRIMARY MIRRORSFeatures High Quality Parabolic Primary Mirrors to eliminate sphericalaberrations inherent in ‘fast’ focal length reflectors with spherical primarymirrors. The mirrors are parabolized to bring all the light rays to the samefocal point to give sharp, constrasty images, which are full of detail.SKY-WATCHER DELUXE MIRRORCOATINGS
Most reflectors today usually have a coat of aluminium as the mirror surfaceand then an overcoat of silicon monoxide or silicon dioxide to protect it.Silicon dioxide produces a much more durable coat than silicon monoxide butrequires specialized equipment to apply it and is therefore more expensive.Protection is needed, because in most reflectors, the mirror is open to theelements and deterioration of the reflective layer reduces the resolution ofthe telescope. ALL Sky-Watcher reflectorsare Multi-Coated with Silicon Dioxide as standard for Optimum Durability andLong Term Performance. Ade Ashford Says…”Having tested and reviewed a wide range ofastronomical telescopes over the last couple of decades, for me there’s onemanufacturer that’s risen above the rest in terms of delivering a coherentrange of uncompromising, well-conceived designs, embodying consistently goodoptics and sensibly engineered mounts at very competitive prices that’sSky-Watcher!!”Ade Ashford BScAde Ashford has tested and reviewed astronomical equipmentin a professional capacity for several publications, including Sky &Telescope, Astronomy Now & BBC Sky AtNight Magazine. “Having
