As depicted:-

Outwardly, this is a good honest instrument with moderate wear and tear, complete with the scarce patent extendible ray shields (or spray shields),  leather eyepiece covers and case.

Please note:-

The optics are substantially defective,I am getting no sense out of the switchable filters,The threads in one bakelite barrel cap have failed and the eyepiece falls out.

If ever one were to contemplate refurbishing one of these, this, I suppose, would be a suitable candidate.

There are patent numbers, 1933 dated on the ray shields and 1934 dated on the binocular. Barr and Stroud Glasgow 7x CF41 on one barrel cap and a broad arrow and Admiralty code 1900A on the other, together with the serial number 57877.

There’s a bit of tarnish here and there, some case wear, some crazing on the leather case carry strap and the eyepiece cover stitchings have either stretched or failed in places. Outwardly, it is doing quite well for an 80 year old instrument but functionally, it is substantially at fault.
