SARD US NAVY WORLD WAR II 7×50 (MARK 21) BINOCULAR & STRAP
A wonderful example of this classic American World War II binocular (which is preserved in outstanding condition, allowing the user to enjoy the original optical performance of this model.
This binocular is extremely rugged, and was produced to very high standards using outstanding glass and coatings for the period. The result is a very high performing binocular, despite being made in the 1940s. There is no rangefinding recticle (graticule) in this example.
This binocular has the added benefit of coated lenses, producing bright, razor sharp images which are surprisingly good for a World War II binocular.
This binocular is marked ‘BU. AERO. U.S. NAVY MARK 21 R88-B-320’.
I am including an image of a page from Stephen Rohan’s book ‘A Guide to Handheld Military Binoculars’ which contains further technical details of this binocular; a copy of this page is also included in the auction. It appears that the left-hand prism plate from this example has been replaced at some point (it is now blank, rather than displaying the ‘Sard’ logo).
Don’t miss this brilliant opportunity to own one of America’s landmark military binoculars, which saw use in some of the major naval battles of World War II.

WHAT YOU GET* The binocular* The original leather strap* A copy of the page from Stephen Rohan’s book ‘A Guide to Handheld Military Binoculars’ that deals with this model(There is no case included with this auction, but period cases are readily available on eBay)
CONDITION (see close-up photos which form part of the description)This binocular is in very good condition, allowing you to enjoy its wonderful optical performance.
LENSES AND PRISMS – Excellent condition inside and out. There are no chips, haze, fungus or any other significant problems. Some of the coating has been removed from the lenses in places (probably through cleaning), but I believe this makes no noticeable difference to the optical performance of the binocular. There are also some small speckles (impossible to photograph) and tiny dots on the lenses in a few places, but again I am only including these details for the sake of completeness, and they do not detract from the outstanding optical performance of this binocular. Perfectly collimated (aligned) with no double vision.
BINOCULAR BODY – Excellent condition. This binocular has clearly been used only lightly and carefully in the past.
GUARANTEE & RETURNSI offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you’re not happy for any reason you can return the binocular for a full refund (including your original postage costs). If there is something wrong with the binocular I will pay your return postage. If you’ve simply changed your mind, you will need to pay return postage using the same service originally used to get the binocular to you.
