RussianWW2 6 x 30 military binoculars with reticle serial number 37978. The serial number ofthese binoculars indicates that they were made in1937. But theyappear to have had a very long service life including all of theGreat Patriotic War and after. This no doubt has included several overhaulsand rebuilds, one quite recent, evidenced by their good conditionand the fact that they have acquired some blue coated lenses, onlyfitted post-WW2. The type was still in use by Warsaw Pact forces upto the 1960’s. Optics have the typical amber tint of Soviet-era glasses and there is a range-finding reticle in the right optics.They are very clear internally ( except for two tiny drops of blacksealant, visible only on reverse viewing only and not affectingperformance.) There is no damage to lenses or prisms and collimationis perfect, individual focussing vey smooth. They have their originalmilitary case with webbing strap and belt loop (case stamped inside the lid – photo). There is also a rainguard and lanyard. A very complete and original historic binocular set.Thebinoculars will be carefully packed in a well padded box for dispatchand sent fully insured.
