Superb Vintage WW1 PeriodBritish Army IssueBinocular Prismatic No 2 Mk 11 x6 Graticule BinocularsbyRoss London EnglandSerial No 1641Dated 1915This is an excellent pair of type No 2 Mk11 binoculars within there leather field case. Carried by the British army, they were mainly used in military field observation during WW1 by most regiments. This fine pair, are in excellent vintage condition. To the left shoulder inscribed Binocular Prismatic No 2 Mk11 Magnification 6 No 1641, and war department broad arrow or crow foot to base, and the right inscribed Graticules 1/2 apart and 1/2, 1 and 1 1/2 high Ross London 1915. The leather field case stamped Case No 2 Prismatic Binocular J.B. Brooks & Co Ltd 1914 and War department broad arrows or crow feet. Condition report: The black finish is in good vintage condition with minor wear shown in the enlarged photographs below, the optics return good imaging with correctly aligned(collimated) prisms that are not loose or damaged, so no double vision or rattles incorporating range finder to right optic. The individual eye lenses focus easily, sharply and correctly. The original fine quality, leather field case and strap are in good vintage conditon with minor losses.This is a really nice cased pair which you would struggle to find better.
