These binoculars date from around the turn of the last century and are marked, ‘The Sportsman Paris’ and ‘the property of the Grand Opera House York’. They are made from brass and nickel and bound with leather. They are unusual in that they has a small compass set within them. They are in good working order but have a few scuffs commensurate with age. They have a width of just over 11cm.
