The Field Model of the rare and legendary Questar Catadioptric Telescope No. F-4238-BB ( broadband coatings ) which can of course be used for astronomical as well as terrestrial observations. It’s design is very compact and portable with a length of 29 cm. and weighs 1.8kg. It is in very good working condition, with some slight signs of use, and with high quality optics. The eyepieces are a Tele Vue Nagler 9mm with locking screw, a Tele Vue 19mm Wide Field and a Kyowa HWF10x and the range of coverage is extended with the flick of a lever to utilise the in built Barlow into the optical path, a lower magnification finder is instantly available with the flick of another lever. The removable external tube,which can be extended as a lens hood, has been covered with black duct tape by the previous owner for weather protection. Also included is an adapter to take a Nikon DSLR body which can be screwed into the back of the Questar to give you a 1200 mm catadioptric telephoto lens which was very effective using the magnified live view on my Nikon D3200 for focussing for still photographs and video. A sturdy good quality Lowepro camera bag is supplied for carrying the scope on location. I am selling this expensive item on behalf of the widow of an old friend and would prefer bids from eBayers with perfect Feedback for at least twenty transactions to avoid any complications with the auction.
