QHYCCD Polemaster Electric Polar Scope and ADM Dovetail Rail Adapter
This listing is for both the Polemaster camera and the ADM dovetail adapter.The Polemaster and adapter will come unboxed as I never got any packaging when I bought them.
The QHY Polemaster is an excellent addition to an amateur or experienced astronomers toolbox making telescope alignment quicker, easier and highly accurate.I myself have found it invaluable to reduce my own set-up times and make sure I have my polar alignment right first time.
The Polemaster comes with its original lens cap and special USB cable (it has thumbscrews so the cable doesnt drop out).I will also leave it mounted to the ADM dovetail adapter as shown in the photos so no screws get lost.
The ADM dovetail adapter holds the Polemaster at a 90 angle to a Vixen (GP) or Losmandy style dovetail and has a screw tightening mechanism which lets you quickly attach/detach the adapter from the dovetail whilst still allowing for a REALLY solid mount.I’d say this adapter is one of the best as it doesn’t tie you down to any particular mount, as long as you have space on the dovetail you should be good to go!
Usage is easy and the software guides you through the process very well on its own, however if you havn’t used one before I recommend watching a YouTube video about the setup.Its very easy, but its nice to get accustomed to the operation before you’re struggling about in the dark!The image is really impressive and it picks out Polaris really well even in bad conditions (I live in a Bortle Class 6 area). You can actually make out the ‘bulge’ of the second star in the Binary Polaris system!Device Driver’s and Software can be found easily on QHY’s own website and I’ve had a seamless time using them.Just google search QHY Polemaster and go to the QHYCCD.com website where there is a Downloads tab for the Polemaster.
Starting price is 160 as a new Polemaster costs 246ish and the ADM bracket new costs 44
