Orion StarSeek Wi-FiTelescope Control Module

This is a used Orion StarSeek Wi-Fi Telescope Control Module for connecting and controlling a motorised telescope mount to a computer, tablet or phone, using Wi-Fi.
UPDATED FIRMWARE – added features:
These units originally created their own local ‘Ad-Hoc’ network, however most Android devices (and Windows 10) cannot connect to Ad-Hoc networks. Also, the apps to connect to it were only for Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, etc),
However, I have updated the firmware to the latest version 2.3.3S which now gives the option allowing the unit to join any existing (infrastructure) Wi-Fi network.
So now it can connect to your home Wi-Fi and can also be controlled by Android devices or Windows 10 computers. (with the correct software or app)
It comes with a serial port cable for connecting to a computer to update firmware.(There are USB to Serial adapters if you don’t have a serial port)
It can be used with some other brands of telescope mounts, not just Orion products:
This unit is compatible with a wide range of telescope mounts, including some from Meade, iOptron, Celestron, Skywatcher, Takahshi, etc.
I tested this with a Celestron CG5-GoTo mount using my own RJ14/handset cable, specifically for Celestron.
Not having an Orion mount I haven’t been able to test the cables included, so no guarantee can be made that they work.
Please do your own research to check that this unit is compatible with your mount and whether you need an alternative cable.
I used Stellarium to control the mount, creating a virtual serial port to connect to the Wi-Fi module via the free program HW VSP3 – Virtual Serial Port
