I bought this scope (and tripod listed separately) to lookat the stars in Southern Ireland. I had previously used a pair of binocularsbut wanted something more powerful. I set up the scope and tripod at homebefore going to Ireland and didnt really get on with them so just stuck withthe binoculars. The scope and tripod were therefore put back in their boxes andhave been left in the loft until a recent clear-out. They are therefore still bothin perfect condition.I dont understand much about the specification of thesescopes and eyepieces but have found something, that I THINK is a similarproduct, on the market now.https://www.birders-store.co.uk/opticron-is60-r-45-fieldscope-with-is-18-54x-zoom-stay-on-case.htmlThe online item is only an IS 60 whereas mine is an IS 70.This number refers to the diameter of the main lens in mm. The zoom levels ofthe eyepiece depend on this size which is why there are three rings of valueswritten on it. Given that my scope is a 70, the zoom levels are 20x to 60x (thebottom row).Thereference numbers on the box are:41067 = IS70/45 WP Fieldscope kit which contains:40985 = IS 70/45WP body40918s = IS20-60x eyepiece40995 = waterproof case (79)
