If my memory iscorrect, OPTICRON started as a retailer back in the 1970`s, but thenturned to selling their own brand of optics sourced from top Japaneseoptics factories.Listedhere is a veryniceOPTICRON `COUNTRYMAN`8x 42 wide angle porroprismbinocular.Thereare some signs of use buttheinternal optics are crystal clear anddeliver a very sharp edge to edge view.Itfeatures Bak 4 prisms, fullymulticoated optics; rubberarmoured body, rubberfold down eyecups for spectacle wearers and a tripod socket in thelower hinge. It comes complete with non-originalaccessories; ahardcase; greyand red webbing neckstrap; rainguard;objective lens capsand alenscloth.Defects:afew tiny internal dust specks; some light external usage marks in therubber armouring; slight`stickiness` to the prism covers; case has a repaired lid and baseitake great care examining, using and describing the binoculars andscopes i sell, and always get a second opinion. however, i am not aprofessional and my description is based on my experience and honestassessment; most examples i sell are at least 35 years old and theremay be other defects…….also, please remember, everyone`s eyes aredifferent…..
