This is a pair of 8 x 43 porro prism binoculars made by Newbold and Bulford of London and Paris. Their design suggests they were made in the 1950s. The manufacturer was a well known supplier of high quality binoculars in the post war period and later became Enbeeco (N B Co).

The quality of the optics is good. They are well adjusted but would benefit from an internal clean. They are in good condition cosmetically. The leather coverings are excellent but there is some paint loss and a small ding in the cover on one of the objective lenses. The central hinge is well damped and the focussing is smooth, with a little slippage of the focus ring at times. The ocular adjustment is a little stiff. Dimensions when fully opened are 18 x 12 x 5.5cm and the binoculars weigh 690g.

These binoculars come with their original neck strap in their original case, the top of which is broken away from the case.
