For auction a Meade 10 LX200 GPS Schmidt Cassegrain telescope with EMC super multi coatings. The telescope has been used very little and is offered in superb near mint condition. The telescope has been updated with the latest version of Autostar II software (Version 4.2i.) and the original GPS unit has been replaced with a current Meade production unit. Telescope alignment is accomplished automatically using the integrated Ground Positioning System with true level and North sensors referencing a 16 channel on board Global Positioning System receiver. Magnetic declination compensation is built into the software. Alignment could not be simpler. Switch on the telescope, select “Align” (Automatic) and press ENTER. The scope will find North, automatically level and acquire its position, date and time from GPS. It will then slew to two alignment stars to confirm alignment. The Autostar II control system and GO TO hand controller with 3.5mb flash memory and digital readout provides instant access to over 125,000 celestial objects stored within the onboard software library. Once aligned, simply select a viable object, press ENTER and the telescope slews at up to 8 degrees per second to that object.With Meade SmartDrive and 9 speed drive controls on each axis this telescope provides high precision pointing, moving quickly initially and increasingly finely as it closes in on the target. The LX200 is fitted with a Primary Mirror Lock which is located just above the manual coarse focus control. Used in conjunction with the electronic Zero Image Shift Microfocuser, the Primary Mirror Lock completely cancels any residual image shift while focusing during visual, photographic or CCD imaging applications.The Zero Image Shift Microfocuser is fitted with 4 speeds, from fast to extremely slow actuated through the Autostar II hand controller.The optical tube assembly is mounted on a heavy duty fork mount with original Meade 4 polar bearing, dual axis 5.75 worm gears with integrated fine manual adjustment controls and locking tabs for both axis. The integrated control panel provides 7 ports. These include a 12volt DC power input from the IC regulated power supply, 2 X RS232 serial interface ports and connectivity for the Autostar II hand controller. Connections are also provided for the electonically driven microfocuser, illuminated reticle and also a 12volt DC accessory output.
