I have for sale a wonderful 19th century example of Opera Glasses in wonderful condition. These binoculars were manufactured by Lemaire in Paris, one of the most renowned manufacturers of lenses and optical equipment during the 19th century.
The binoculars are in exceptional condition and I suspect have been stored without use for quite some time. The leather body work is in perfect condition and the optical quality is fantastic. The lenses bear the makers name ‘Lemaire Fabt Paris’ and depict the company bee logo within the lettering.
The leather case has signs of wear but has no damage (apart from the missing handle) to the exterior or interior which is still bright and lustrous. The interior finish is finished in a gorgeous blue satin and the general workmanship is magnificent to the overall piece. The little gold clasp works perfectly and again depicts the bee logo of the company linking the case to the binoculars.
This piece would make a wonderful gift for a collector and could be used in any field of interest including, bird watching, opera and theatre.
A genuine 19th century antique collectors piece at a fantastic price, any questions or additional information required please feel free to contact me, happy to help.
