A superb example, RARE to see in this quality condition, of a brass Leitz D.F 7×50 German military binocular. Judging from its early serial number 085, I believe it to be WW1 use and appropriately Eagle stamped with its “M” below ( marine) and Artl to the right prism cover, probable U-Boat or possible Coastal Artillery assigned. Those who have Hans Seeger Grey book, refer to pages 288 and 290 for illustrative U-Boat photo ( mail me if I can forward photo ). The individual eye piece focusing is lovely to rotate, silky smooth, to work towards great collimation and clear viewing, expected minor haze in view of age, but refer to photos. Mechanically all is equally sound and working as designed, central IPD central locking is tight and secure, sun shades rise and fall with pressure, assured that can stand safely on its end! To the left shade there is the inscription ” E = 9, 5 x G” not fully understood by many but may mean designated use by Signal and Communication. Bodywork is original with leathering to barrels nicely patinated with age but all in tact and tight – just for extreme listing accuracy two “tiny” dings to left barrel which barely noticeable during normal use. Screw heads show no signs of intrusion so believe everything in original condition. If only binoculars could talk, what stories they could tell….

RETURNS
I will accept returns in almost all postal cases, where it is agreed that the item was incorrectly described and could have notably misled the buyer. Buyers remorse is not an acceptable reason for return. Contact with me by E-mail should be made within 72 hours of the item receipt and further to agreement returned within 7 days of its receipt, remaining in the same condition as originally dispatched and packaged to its same high standard. Further to its review I will refund in full the “original item price” and the “postal service charge”. Return costs are at the buyers expense unless otherwise agreed.
