The Kirk KC-1 King Cobra Gimbal Tripod Head is a gimbal type tripod head that allows the entire weight of the camera and lens combination to be hung rather than balanced. This allows for a camera with even a large telephoto lens attached to it to be literally controlled with one finger. It provides you with smooth gliding control, and allows you to adjust the lens through an infinite range of motion without locking and unlocking the head.This gimbal design allows the camera to be side mounted rather than to be placed on top of a ball head. This is especially useful for larger telephoto lenses or spotting scopes. This way the lens can rotate around its center of gravity, dramatically improving handling and vibration dampening.Arca-Type Quick Release System
The Arca-Swiss type quick release base allows it to be used with any of the many “Arca-Swiss type” plates, available from Kirk, Arca-Swiss, Foba, NPC, Novoflex, etc.
Large Q.R. Clamp
The 4.1″ long Arca-type quick release clamp is fully adjustable, allowing the assembly to slide, to achieve perfect balance. The King Cobra can be used on your left or right side.
Heavy-Duty Design
Constructed from 6061 T6 alloy aluminum, and all parts are anodized or powder coated to a black satin finish. Internal parts are stainless steel.
