Very early Goerz Berlin Trieder Binocle 9X binoculars in the original leather case. These binoculars are in excellent condition with only external age related wear and rubbing, while the optics, adjustment mechanism etc are in undamaged fully functional condition. The serial number 11337 indented on the front bridge indicates that this is a particularly early pair dating to 1897 / 1898. These binoculars were primarily produced for the hunting fraternity and were very popular owing to the large knurled adjustment shafts, making focusing particularly easy while wearing gloves and for the rugged solid build quality. The leather case is original and so well made even today it continues to provide excellent protection for the optics. The neck strap permanently fixed to the binoculars is a later replacement.
These binoculars are particularly suited to the collector but are still a fully functional set of field glasses.
