This OTA was used as part of a solar telescope, for which the long focal length (f10, 1000 mm) is very suitable. It has an achromatic doublet lens; although triplets and apochromats are now common in small refractors, an f10 achoromatic doublet gives good results. A search on the Internet reveals the good reputation of these classic Japanese optics. For example:
