Celestron 1100 Schmidt-Cassegrain TelescopeCGEM Computerized Equatorial Mount This telescope is brilliant and in very good condition! It was used occasionally when new (10 years ago) but not so much in the last 5 years. Getting rid of it only due to lack of space and loss of terrace. The huge 11″ mirror made it great for seeing objects in the light-polluted London skies. It particularly works well viewing the planets and their unique features. In London, I have viewed the polar ice caps of Mars, the rings of Saturn, the stripes of Jupiter along with the Galilean moons, and the nebula in Orions belt. Of course, the moon looks spectacular! Magnification so close, it visibly moves quickly through the viewfinder. Works even better in the countryside. The CGEM mount is quite heavy, so I customised mine with heavy-duty castor wheels to improve mobility. It also comes with an insolated cover for the entire telescope & mount and a power cable. These items will be included in the sale!This comes with the standard NexStar handheld controller, but I am also selling (separately) a never-used StarSense Autoalign device that makes setup even easier. Please see my other listing for this. It is NOT included in this sale. I am also not selling any lenses at this time (holding onto them for now) and lenses must be purchased separately. Despite its age, this model still retails in the UK for nearly 4000. The newer models that replaced this one over the years go for between 4200 – 6600, depending on the features.
