The Celestron Astromaster 102 AZ short tube refractor is a true dual use telescope.
Ideal for both terrestrial use and astronomy. Also with an incredible close focus
of just under 8 metres, it is very much at home looking at birds in the back garden.
The fully coated 102mm (4″) objective lens gives excellent colour rendition with
a wide field of view. Perfect for general star sweeping and observing rich field
star clusters , brighter galaxies and nebula , away from city lights.
Very easy to set up and use, with a no tool set up. Ideal for a quick set up , if there
is a sudden break in the clouds , so you can get observing straight away.
Designed to be a wide field scope. With this in mind, the 20mm (33x) and 10mm (66x)
are sensible magnifications. More eyepieces can be added.
The erect image diagonal, not only gives an upright image, but with correct left / right orientation
For the photographers out there, the OTA makes for a great 660mm f6.5 telephoto lens.
To keep everything steady, the full sized aluminium is lightweight yet very sturdy
