Early pair of Voigtlaner binoculars 8×27
Done some extensive searching and cant find much reference to this size ?
Considering age they’re very good condition
Both eye cups intact
Central hinge lovely and smooth with good damping
Thumbwheel focus is excellent.
Right eypiece focus good
There is some haze and a bit of dust internally as would be expected. Cant see any fungus or mould. The viewing image is very good, bit grey due to haze but is sharp and appears to be aligned. My eyes are not great and I use contact lenses but the view is very acceptable considering the age.
Neck strap intact
With original case, showing some wear.
No corrosion to the metalwork and most of the black enamel is intact and clean
The leagther covering however has become brittle with age and as you can see there is some missing. Could be recovered quite easily if desired.
