An Antique Single Draw Officer Of The Watch Marine Telescope.
** Signed Geo Lee & Son The Hard, Portsea on the Draw.
* Measures approximately 17 3/8 Inches long when fully deployed.
Will date to the mid / second half 19th Century.** Silver Plated Brass with a Leather Barrel Binding.**
The Sun / Rain Shade deploys firmly without issue.
** As seen I have had this Telescope apart, I cleaned and inspected it personally, all in good order internally with only very minor signs of age and use.
All the Lenses are now clean, all are present and very correct, no visible wear cracks, scratches or chips.* Focuses easily and precisely in the round, giving a superbly clear and sharp image in use, magnification strength is surprisingly good.All the Threaded Components run well and tighten properly, no issues at all.
* The Barrel shows only minor signs of age and use including one very shallow dent, as shown.
** Its Leather Binding is firmly in situ and intact but its Seam is weak and split in places as shown, the Stitching has degraded over time.
* No major damage or structural issues overall.
The Barrel Ends have no movement or other issues.
The Draw with only minor surface patina of age and use including one very small dent as shown clearly, no cracks or breaks, no structural issues or major damage.
** The Eyepiece Shutter is present and working, it moves firmly and freely.The Draws is a good friction fit, deploying smoothly and firmly with only very minimal and acceptable sideways movement at the Joint when fully extended. ** A very good quality collectable and working Period British Telescope.
