Carl Zeiss Jena DDR “Dekarem” 10 x 50 multi-coated binoculars serial number 6940593.This is a pair of genuine East German Zeiss binoculars, clearly marked “DDR” and bearing the correct 7-digit serial number. The Dekarem was the Zeiss DDR premium 10 x 50 binocular, superior to the similar Jenoptem. This pair I believe date from 1961-64 (serial number match).The glasses also feature Zeiss’s world-beating T3M multi-coated optics for maximum light transmission and optimal viewing even in difficult conditions. The binoculars have no faults and are crystal-clear. The cosmetic condition is also excellent with very smart paintwork showing very minimal signs of use. They focus very smoothly producing a bright, pin-sharp image, Carl Zeiss optical excellence at its finest. They are sold with their original solid brown leather / red velvet lined case together with its leather strap and black leather binocular lanyard. Sold with reserve of 40. These binoculars have been stored, hence their excellent condition, a great ‘vintage’ pair of Carl Zeiss.
