CARLZEISS optical instruments really need no introduction at all.Interestin vintage West German CARL ZEISS (oberkochen) and East German CARLZEISS JENA binoculars is very high and good examples of both brandsare well worth seeking out.Thislisting is for a CARL ZEISS JENA DELTRINTEM 8 x 30 porroprismbinocular produced well before division of Germany. A famous modelthis one, with a very long production life and therefore not rare onthe used optics market. This particular example is from 1935 or 1936and although the binocular is age worn itself, it comes with itsoriginal box and accessories in first class condition that israre! The optics are reasonably clear apart from age related haze anda couple of brownish mould spots. The mechanics are smooth operatingbut stiff particularly the main focus control. Collimationappears to be good for an 85 year old instrument!
