Carl Zeiss Jena DDR “Dekarem” 10 x 50 wide-angle multi-coated binoculars serial number 5814901 (1983). This is a pair of genuine East German Zeiss binoculars, clearly marked “DDR” and bearing the correct 7-digit serial number. The Dekarem was the Zeiss DDR premium binocular, superior to the similar Jenoptem. These glasses feature Zeiss’s world-beating T3M multi-coated optics for maximum light transmission and optimal viewing even in difficult conditions. And the wide-angle view takes in plenty of the scenery and is also great for tracking moving objects, birdwatching, sports etc. These binoculars have no faults or damage optically, are crystal-clear internally and nicely collimated – i.e. no double image. And the cosmetic condition is also excellent with very smart paintwork. They focus very smoothly producing a bright, pin-sharp image, Carl Zeiss optical excellence at its finest. They are sold with their original solid-leather grey velvet lined case together with its leather strap and black leather binocular lanyard. Dimensions length 16 cms, width 20 cms and height 6 cms. Weight of binoculars without case1 kg. Angle of view 7.3 deg. or 128m at 1000m. They will be carefully packed in a well-padded box and sent fully insured. I am happy to post world-wide.
