Carl Zeiss Jena DDR “aus JENA” 8 x 30 multi-coated binoculars serial number 5069650 (1980.) These are a pair of genuine East German Zeiss binoculars clearly marked “DDR” and with the correct 7-digit serial number. The “aus JENA” name was used by East German Zeiss in the US market where Carl Zeiss West had exclusive rights to the Zeiss name at that time. These binoculars feature the revoluntionary “T3M” optical multi-coatings for optimal viewing even in challenging low-light conditions. This particular pair have perfect, A1 optics, crystal-clear internally and with absolutely no damage to prisms or any cleaning marks or scratches on the lenses which are like new. Collimation is perfect with no double image. Cosmetic condition is also very with just a few traces of use. They focus very smoothly and produce and bright, pin-sharp image. They have the luxury top-loading leather case from the premium Deltrintem model which is also in excellent condition with case shoulder strap and black leather binocular lanyard. A fine example of this classic Zeiss glass ready to give many more years of enjoyable use. The binoculars will be carefully packed in a well padded box for dispatch and sent fully insured.
