This Carl Zeiss Jena pair of binoculars are in good working condition.
According to the serial number it would have been made in the early 1950s.
The lenses appear to be in good condition with no scratches.
The focus mechanism moves smoothly as does the right eye optical adjuster.
There are a few fine rub marks on the paint work on the top edges of the binoculars outer casing and I have included a picture of these for you.
The strap is still connected and although a little dry and faintly cracked in places it is still well attached to the binoculars themselves.
It comes with a leather brown case which although I cannot see any Carl Zeiss markings on it I suspect judging by how snuggly it fits that this is the original case.
All the stitching would appear to be solid and the strap and it’s buckles are in good condition.
There is a little wear on some of the edges but this really is quite fine.
Call Zeiss optics are amongst the finest in the world. They are very collectable and would make a great Christmas gift as something that not only is a working pair but also quite likely to be an appreciating asset.
