CarlZeiss Feldstecher Vergr.=8 binocularsThese Feldstecher Vergr.=8 binoculars are in verygood lightly restored condition. They have been completed disassembled andcleaned. Most of the original black enamel paint is acceptable but the frameand the strap lugs have been repainted. The original leather covering on thebarrels has been removed and the underlying corrosion scraped away back to baremetal, before re-gluing the original leather back on and treating it. The hingeis free and firm and the clamp works correctly. Both oculars turn and focusfreely. Both eye cups are original. All lenses and prisms are clean and clearand the collimation is correct.The top plates are inscribed Carl Zeiss Jena D.R.P. on the left and Feldstecher Vergr.=8. on the right. The serial number 5983 is stamped on the frame. The binoculars have a black leather neck strap andstuds which are in good condition although this is probably a later addition.They also come with the bottom half of a brown leather case with no lid.
