Black crackle finish barrel and lacquered brass finder. Cannistered OG. c1920; cemented doublet.
3/4-inch achromatic finder x7 with 5 fov.
Sans mount & case.
Telescope is in good optical and mechanical condition.
There are two baffles within the barrel and one at the end of the brass RAS drawtube.
Signed on the rackmount flange.
Overall length with Pancratic eyepiece 39-inches.
OG focal length 30-inches.
Gives an excellent image. Stars exhibit diffraction rings (Airy disc) at x125.
I have observed the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn and Venus and several double stars with this telescope and the views were amazing.
A classic early C20th brass astronomical refractor intended for the amateur astronomer.
Broadhurst Clarkson formed in 1908 and operated from Telescope House, 63 Farringdon Road, London until 1973. They specialised in achromatic refractors for amateur astronomers.
