Bresser Spezial Special Astro 20×80 Porro Prism.20x80s are the perfect compromise between portability, light gathering power and magnification, so have long been the “go to” choice for amateur astronomers. These Bresser Spezial Special Astro 20×80 Porro Prism Binoculars are light enough to be hand-held for brief periods, but really come in their own when tripod mounted. They have a central adjustable balance bar which helps to keep the binoculars perfectly in altitude balance and this has a standard 1/4″ mounting point, which allows the binoculars to be mounted on most commercially available standard camera tripods.
The binoculars are fully multi-coated on all optical surfaces, which helps to increase contrast and reduce stray light scatter and internal reflections. The internal prisms are wide BaK4 options, maximising light throughput. 20x magnification will reveal significantly more structure in deep sky targets than smaller 7x or 10×50 binoculars, but image brightness is also maximised by the large 80mm objective lenses. Though these binoculars are principally aimed at astronomy, they can be used very effectively for traditional terrestrial nature observation too.
Featuring flexible fold-down eyecups to suit all types of observing needs, even those who need to use glasses to observe will find a comfortable observing position. Intra ocular adjustment is achieved by the traditional central pivot and the right hand ocular has a standard diopter adjustment to make sure both binoculars come to a perfect focus for both individual observer’s eyes.
A soft case is provided for transportation and the binoculars are soft rubber armoured to give them a reasonable level of protection in use and when transported.
