For auction today is a antique/vintage pair of theatre glasses made of early plastic or bone not too sure, made by “Millard & son opticians 334 Oxford St. London,” possibly dating from the early 1900s, and have been described as rare. The binoculars come with leather case, the case has obvious wear and cracking to the leather but the stitching is still ok. The shoulder strap is missing and a part of the catch too but the buckle is still there. The case has a red interior and inside the lid is embossed in gold the name of the firm. The binoculars are not marked in any way but made from brass and early plastic or bone, not sure. there is some damage to the covering, one eye piece has the surround missing and one side of the barrel covering has a split. Looking through the wrong way the lenses look good but one has staining, spots, all will need taking apart and cleaning. The larger lenses, one of them has a small bruise to the glass near the edge, the thumb wheel works nice and smoothly.
