Pair of antique binoculars/field/theatre glasses in lovely condition and full working order. No case.
Very rare pair of Kendal & Dent of London binoculars which have 3 lens settings for Field, Theatre and Marine. I can’t find any reference anywhere on the internet of another pair of these glasses. James Francis Kendal & John Gilder Dent (1881 – 1941) of 106 Cheapside London were well known retailers of retailers and jewellers. Therefore this piece was a rare excursion for them and I think a commission piece. They may well be one of a kind! Have not seen any binoculars/glasses of this type with 3 settings/lens like this before. The settings are all distinctly different and are very powerful. Leather bound on main body.
