This rare vintage pair of Bausch & Lomb binoculars appear in good order for their age and considering they were military issue.
I am not an expert in binoculars but some quick research shows the broad arrow stamp surrounded by the letter C suggests these were made between 1914 & 1949 (in the USA) for the Canadian government/army. You will see from the photos that this mark is stamped on both the binoculars and their case. The lenses appear clear and unscratched and the eyepieces adjust independently. The words Military Stereo are stamped next to the left eyepiece and Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Rochester. N.Y. USA. next to the right – which has a small chip on it, see photo.Unsurprisingly, given the age, some of the paint is worn. However, the leather grip is intact. There looks to be a locking device between the objective lenses.The case, which is in very good (used) condition, is also stamped with Inspector of Artillery Stores and is signed by a G A Walker. There appears to be a 4 letter inscription/word below but I cannot make this out. The straps for both the case and the binoculars look to be in good condition.
