Ross was one of Britain’s great optical marques, with a history as far back as the 19th century. This rare coated lens Stepron 8×30 is a compact, wide-angle glass, one of the company’s most successful ,expensive and long selling models, and capable of surpassing any rivals comparable model giving brilliant , bright ,very wide,and very sharp views This example ,serial 11856 was produced in London , England. Lenses and coatings are unscratched .. Spotless internally, with No Scratches Fungus Dust Chips or Glass damage. .Right eye adjusts smoothly and correctly . Centre hinge adjusts smoothly .- No slack or play in the strong metal bridge.. Ross large precise smooth Focusing Wheel is a joy to use, very smooth and easy ..
Original “Ross” lined leather case in excellent strong condition, adjustable leather shoulder strap is also strong and uncracked. (Please see all pictures)
Please Note – This is a Vintage binocular probably made after the second World War It has No major Dents or Dings or Leather covering loss , but it does have inevitable age related cosmetic paint loss , and wear on areas rubbed by the case ( Please examine all 12 pictures carefully )
This binocular gives excellent correctly collimated views and is perfect for Bird watching and Aircraft or Ship spotting .The English National papers published a famous picture of Lady Camilla at the Races with a pair of Ross Steptron 8×30 binoculars – so they are excellent for sporting events too!
