Lovely Original, Unmolested Pair of High Quality Binoculars From a Great Maker. Clear and Clean Optics that are Still Optically Relevant Today. These are as Good as Anything from Ross or Zeiss of the Time. Remember, The British Army were About to Award Eleven Victoria Crosses for the defense of Rourke`s Drift Around the Time These Were Produced. Stunning!
There Are of Course Signs of Normal Use and Wear as Shown in the Pictures, But These Only Enhance the Originality of These Historic Glasses.
Moritz, Jacob, and Edward Pillischer were instrument makers in England in the 19th and 20th centuries. Jacob was the nephew of Moritz and from Hungary and also the father of Edward.His early work in London as an instrument maker was at 419 Oxford Street London, subsequently at 398 Oxford Street (1851-1853) and then at 88 New Bond st London from 1854-1887.There is More Information Available Online About The Pillischer Family.
