High quality, original made in Japan, chinon 8×42 binoculars. Surplus to requirements cos I have a pair of Viking Vestron 10×42’s. These perform very well, In actual fact I found little difference in performance between these and the Vikings. The chinons give a wider field of view (6.2), the vestrons have slightly better eye relief for my specs though! The chinons are a porro prism design and have the very red multicoating that was distinctive to pentax made optics c. 1990’s. Diopter correction on the right eyepiece as is normal on most binocs. Centre focus button.
There is a small optical blemish in the left eye optical train. It’s difficult to see, looks like a bit of haze on a prism. I don’t notice any effect in use.
But hence low price!
