A piece of English history with these vintage H. Salanson & Co of Bristol & Cardiff 10 x 35 Binoculars.
History:
H. Salanson & Co. Ltd. Opticians & Cameras. Thecompany was established around 1887 by Alfred Salanson and was renowned for selling electrical accessories for the ‘newelectric light’. Listed in 1897 at 21 Clare Street and 130 Victoria Street and in 1901, H& Co, 20 High Street Bristol, also of Queen Street Cardiff. Over the following forty years there wasdiversification into optical and ophthalmic-goods, microscopes, spectacles,cameras and photographic equipment etc. Condition:
* In fair condition, with cosmetic marks, consistent for age and careful use
* Has some cosmetic paint loss, see pictures
* Fairly Clear Optics – very good for age
Comes with:
* Original Binocular Case
I am unsure how old these binoculars are, as they are fairly rare.
