Carl Zeiss Jena DDR”Turmon” 8 x 21 T3M multi-coated miniature folding prismaticmonocular with case. Made from 1921-1990, this tiny monocular wasaimed at the discerning user who needed the finest Carl Zeiss opticsin the most compact form. It is stored flat and then folded for use,so small that it can be used cupped in the palm of the hand fordiscrete viewing in theatres, churches etc. However it is still madeto the same demanding optical and mechanical standards as any otherCarl Zeiss glass producing an exceptionally clear and well-definedimage and with a surprisingly wide field of view (110m at 1000m.)Note also that it can focus down to about 2 metres/6ft and cantherefore be used as a “gallery” glass. This late exampleis the final version featuring full T3M multi-coatings foroptimised viewing even in the most demanding low-light conditions.For full information and technical description please see the Zeiss1985 catalogue extract included in the photos. This particularexample is in A1 condition in all respects. Optics are crystal-clearinternally, totally free from fungus and haze. And both the eyepiecefocusing and central hinge work very smoothly. Cosmetic condition isexcellent, no flaws or damage to the paint and durable self-colouredplastic covering that I could see. A great little Carl Zeisscompanion for any traveler. Sold with original Zeiss leather case. The monocular will be very carefully packed ina well padded box for dispatch and sent fully insured.
