Antique Brass Binoculars in Case
These binoculars are unmarked apart from “6X” and an angle of opening indicator (60-70) but they come in a custom fitted solid leather case which is gold blocked inside the lid with “Ross Opticians 111 New Bond St” so it is most likely they were made by or for Ross of London.
Their style appears to place them around World War One era although there are no military markings.
They are well marked externally and have an obvious repair to the left eyepiece surround in the form of an alloy collar, but they still function and focus reasonably well and the case is in very good condition for age. The case has initials “F.D.W” embossed on the lid and also some old signature and address written in ink on the reverse.
