Rare & Top Quality WW1 J H Dallmeyer LONDON Brass Naval Gun Sighting Telescope x8

Superb Condition – Perfect Working Order – Very Sharp Optics – Original Solid Mahogany Box
52cm long (53cm when focus is extended)
The angle tube lens on top of the telescope is for illuminating the graticule and still has the original cap and chain (which is rare to find), by letting more light into the tube it also enhances the brightness of the image viewed, apologies for the actual through lens photos below which don’t do the sharp optics justice, very hard to focus and photo without a tripod as the scope is heavy!
Anyone familiar with the name Dallmeyer will immediately associate the name with the absolute zenith of optical quality and design, Dallmeyer is the last word in precision optics of that time and still today is revered for the astonishing lenses that they produced, many of them eclipsing all competition, and many, even to this day are highly prized and hunted by Dallmeyer user and collectors.
This telescope would certainly fit into any military museum but would also be a stunning usable display piece in any home or man cave, I suggest polishing if desired and an antique wooden tripod to install/ display and nothing more.
