PAIR OF CASED ‘LIEBERMAN & GORTZ’ 25 x 55 BINOCULARS.

Having been favoured with instructions to totally clear a local bungalow we complied and completed the job. This was all of seven years ago, back in the winter of 2009. Strangely, just a few weeks ago, I received a telephone request to call once again, at exactly the same address, to exactly the same bungalow. However, this time it was not to clear the place but to empty the workshop adjacent the property. It appeared that after her husbands demise the widow had the original bungalow demolished, re-built and furnished throughout. The large, double garage sized workshop, her husbands ‘inner sanctum’ as she called it, had been left absolutely untouched and exactly as he had last left it. Mrs ‘K’ stated that she hadn’t the heart to enter the place, let alone interfere with its contents in any way whatsoever. However, as time passed she felt that she could face up to life again and consequently once more we were again favoured and instructed. Having cut down several small ash saplings that blocked the doors to the workshop, we also removed all manner of vegetation that had meandered across from the undergrowth and eventually gained access. Confronted by seven years of non-use the interior was a mess, the whole area being festooned in cobwebs and having an air of general decay. However, it was inside this same dull, damp, fly blown workshop, that we found an ‘Aladdin’s Cave.’ This hideaway came in the guise of an airtight room within a room, if you get my drift. The locked and ‘hardened’ compact box, about the size of a small garden shed, had been designed and erected to contain and retain, in total security, some of the best vintage curios and antiquated items that I had seen in years. Mr ‘K’ must have had a really good eye and had obviously been an astute collector for many years, because lashings of ‘oddities’ from different periods of history, coupled with other weird and wonderful toys and objet d’art came to light….this is just one such item.
This item is a pair of cased Lieberman & Gortz binoculars. The size is 25 x 55. They have bloomed lenses. The pair have been stored for a long period and like almost all the other stuff they do need a good clean and oil and/or whatever. The actual leather case fixing tongue is broken, this will need renewing.

We want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase, therefore in the event you receive the item and it is not as was described or pictured, then ‘thundercliffegrange’ will accept the return of the item and issue you with a 100% REFUND of your purchase price and original shipping costs.
