With thread to attach to a sturdy tripod (not included), this set up
is perfect for bird spotters, ship watching and general use. The
multi-coated 80mm lens combined with good quality eyepieces
give excellent colours and contrast with a wide field of view.
Also can be used for astronomy. But we recommend purchasing
a 90 degree diagonal for this
For DSLR photography this makes a great 400mm f5 fast
telephoto lens. You do not use the eyepiece for this.
For astro imaging or long distance photography , simply remove
the diagonal and screw on a t-ring (not included) for whatever
DSLR camera body you are using. Note that with Nikon, Sony
and some others you will only be able to use manual exposure.
Canons allow aperture priority.
For photography where you need to close focus there will not be
enough outward focus travel. But you can fix this by removing
the lens from the barlow. Then screw the t-ring onto this and
insert the barlow where the diagonal goes.
