This is an Altair Newtonian Reflector on a homemade Dobsonian mount. The reflector is in good condition, although the steel tube does have some scratches in the white enamel paint. The reflector has a cooling fan in the base. The mirror is very clean and is easy to collimate with all the plastic knurled knobs easily accessible.
The photographs here (www.flickr.com/photos/stevewanstall/albums/72157653121689659) were largely taken with this telescope on an equatorial mount.
The telescope has a fine focus control.
There is a Telrad mounting plate and if desired the Telrad unit could be purchased. I also have the mounting rings and bar for purchase if desired, so the telescope could be used on a different mount.
The telescope and mount are easy to transport but because of the size and the delicacy of the optics, it will need to be picked up.
