These Wide-Field 8×40 Minolta Binoculars look ‘as new’ except that the folding 3mm deep rubber stand-off ring of the eyepieces useful for non-spectacle users have broken away from the rubber bodies surrounding the eye lenses. This makes these binoculars more suitable for spectacle wearers since this defect does not effect in any way the very good performance of these otherwise unmarked and undamaged high quality binoculars. Their field of view is much wider than normal binoculars which enable their user to observe events such as the strung-out field towards the end of a horse race or of the view of a large flock of birds in flight. Their clarity of their view is ‘crystal-clear’ with easy provision of focussing if the users have not got equal vision in each eye. They will sharply focus from distant views down to about 12 feet — which is useful for viewing the state of ones roof and its gutters following heavy winds — or similar occurrences ! — in addition to their outdoor use.
