This sale isfor an antique pair of metal, leather, woodfield binoculars This antique pair of binoculars are in very nice condition.
The leather clad barrels are in a goodcondition. The wooden central dial wheel has an age related crack but stillworks as it should. The glasses work well and extend and collapse fully to aidfocus. The black painted bodywork is in a worn but characterful condition. This adds to their charm and history.
These are too big to be opera glasses. I haveseen other similar binoculars on the internet which are listed as survivingfrom World War One. Sadly there are no visible military markings, so I amunsure of the exact date of these glasses – but I think it’s pretty safe to saythey are approx 80 – 100 years old.
These have obviously been enjoyed over thegenerations and therefore have lenses which are a bit dusty.
These are the perfect gift for that military warenthusiast or would simply look stunning on a gentleman’s desk or within anyother vintage display. Own a piece of history….today.
